NIRAS Greenland A/S is a Greenlandic company with its head office in Nuuk. The company belongs to the NIRAS Group, which also consists of the firms: NIRAS A/S, NIRAS Consultants A/S and a number of affiliated companies. There are over 900 staff members in all.

Greenland as the greatest market

Since the founding of Nielsen & Rauschenberger in 1956 NIRAS has completed a large number of projects in Greenland, which for many of the early years was the firm's greatest market area. The Group has had permanent representation in Greenland since 1960.

Our knowledge

When the firm first began operating, the projects consisted mainly of building and civil works projects and water supply. Today NIRAS' main areas in Greenland are hydroelectric power, airports, environment, transport and physical planning. Our knowledge also encompasses a thorough familiarity with prices for larger civil works projects.

Through our years of work in Greenland and various surveying studies we have a thorough knowledge of all parts of Greenland, from Nanortalik to Qaanaaq and Station Nord.

Experienced staff

Today NIRAS has at its disposal a number of key staff members, who have more than 30 years' experience of projects in Greenland and who have been resident in Greenland for a number of years. Furthermore, we have younger engineers, economists, socio-economists and town planners, of whom a number have been involved in Greenlandish projects.

Day-to-day management

Director Henrik Mai takes care of the day-to-day management of NIRAS Greenland. Henrik Mai has more than 30 years' experience in resolving technical and financial tasks in Greenland.
