Since the late 1960s NIRAS has been involved in mining operations – first with the Black Angel Mine in Maarmorilik. In the next four decades NIRAS prepared a number of studies for mines, small scale as well as large scale operations.
From the beginning of the 1980s NIRAS and partners were responsible for design, tendering and supervision for the oil exploration facilities in Jameson Land. During the mid 1990s NIRAS prepared a number of design studies related to the oil sector, including navigation, storage and harbour facilities, arctic offshore technology assessment and a subsea pipeline to Iceland.
With a number of specialists, engineers, geologists, economists etc. we are ready to serve the mining and oil business from our offices in Denmark and Nuuk.
